Tips, Tricks, & the Most Beautiful Fairytale Dress

Hey there! I want to share with you tips and tricks for creating stunning bridal photos, provide you with wedding gown photoshoot ideas and inspiration, AND give you a little behind-the-scenes into what this day actually looked like.

One of the best ways to truly make a gorgeous wedding dress the star and focal piece of a photo is to find a background that isn’t distracting. I absolutely loved how these photos came out. The solid wall of greenery behind my beautiful model friend was the perfect background to really allow this dress to have her moment.

Another idea is to have a combination of more simplistic photos, like the ones above, and photos that are a bit busier, like the ones below, which were taken in an open field. The dress is still having her moment, but now it’s getting to interact and compliment the background and vice versa.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes of this day! It was a Sunday, my beautiful model, Bella, and I had gone to church earlier that morning and then went to a hippie festival! It was an event we’d planned on going to for quite some time, and it was so much fun! We quickly changed and headed to this location immediately after we left the festival and we got to work.

These photos were taken for a Bridal Gown Boutique, Formally Yours in Lilburn, Georgia. Check out their website here!

This first dress was so beautiful and definitely gave off fairy tale vibes. The best word I can think of to describe it is…whimsical.

The flower crown was an added touch, we had gotten it earlier at the hippie fest ๐Ÿ™‚ and it went with this dress perfectly!

Here’s a little sneak peek of our other model, Michael, who was an absolute ROCKSTAR. He learned how to fan out a dress like a pro…well, maybe not quite yet, but hey, he did a pretty good job.

Dress Number Two

Here’s the second dress we shot with! This dress was absolutely stunning and HEAVY. I knew having the dress fanned out all the way would be beautiful, so my lovely model assistant Michael and I went to work.

One of my other favorite poses to do with wedding gowns is the turn. This creates a beautiful twist in the dress and gets to display not only the train of the dress but also your bride!
